Process

OrchestraBound sessions follow a consistent procedure designed to mirror professional preliminary auditions. Read this once, then arrive ready to execute.

1. Register

• Enroll for a listed session by instrument.

• You will receive your excerpt assignment and required materials in advance.

2. Prepare

• Prepare the assigned excerpts exactly as listed.

• Bring the required materials (instrument, mutes as applicable, pencils, any printed instructions provided).

3. Check-In

• Arrive on time.

• You will be issued a number-based identity for the session. Use this number for all materials and communication during the audition process.

4. Warm-Up

• Warm-up occurs outside the audition space.

• Warm-up time and location will be directed by a facilitator.

5. Blind Audition

• You will audition once per session.

• Auditions are conducted behind a screen.

• Follow standard audition protocol:

  1. Enter when called

  2. Perform excerpts in the listed order

  3. Exit promptly when finished

6. Adjudication

• The screened professional panel completes written adjudication immediately following your audition.

• No verbal coaching is given during the session.

7. Feedback Delivery

• Written feedback is delivered after the session.

• Feedback is intended to support reflection and future preparation, not ranking or advancement.

8. Return and Repeat

• OrchestraBound is designed for repeat participation.

• You may return for future sessions to apply feedback, adjust preparation strategy, and track consistency over time.
